Headache Pain
Herbs: Natural ways to conquer your pain. Pain is a personal thing. What works as an effective pain reliever for one person, does nothing for another. Many herbs have analgesic properties and a good many of them also fight inflammation, a root cause of many types of pain. Chronic pain is a symptom of an underlying imbalance, and it is important to address that imbalance as well as try to find ways to lessen the pain.

White willow has been used to combat fevers and pain for thousands of years, it may be the oldest herb known to treat pain and inflammation, the oldest recorded use is by Chinese physicians in 500 B.C. White willow was also used in ancient Assyrian, Egyptian, and Greek medicine as well as Native American healers in North America. |
Devil's claw has been most extensively tested for relief of lower back pain. A randomized, double-blind study in Germany with 183 subjects produced the surprising result that not only was devil's claw effective in relieving lower back pain, it was most effective for people who had the most severe, radiating pain, with numbness in the extremities.
