Plants Belonging To Ranunculaceae
Buttercups can be hard to identify in the wild their most common pattern being a lack of one. Butter cups can have either regular or irregular flowers, with anywhere from 3 to 15 sepals. Still the flowers are considered simple because the flower parts are all separate from each other. Medicinally the acrid nature of the plants makes them great for stimulating poultices for bruises or arthritis. Goldenseal is a popular medicinal plant in this family for its bitter and antiseptic berberine alkaloid. Elpel, Thomas J.
