Calendula and Tea Tree Balm

While the calendula balm will work well on its own, the addition of essential oils greatly reduces the potential for infection. While many essential oils could be chosen for this recipe, tea tree, lavender,and chamomile are powerful antibacterials, and yet are gentle enough so as to not cause skin irritation in most people.

This calendula based salve is good for all manner of abrasions, cuts, blisters, and is a must have addition to any home first aid kit.

Ingredients:
Calendula * Comfrey * Lavender * Tea Tree Oil *
Recipe Instructions: Balms/Salves :
  1. Start with calendula herbal oil as the base.
  2. Heat oil and beeswax together over a very low heat, the consistency when cool should be that of a spreadable paste.
  3. Remove from heat, cool slightly, add the essential oils and put into covered tins.
