 One well known home remedy is to feed petroleum jelly, or put it on the cat where they will lick it off. This works, however take care not to give it to a cat who is actively gagging, the jelly can be aspirated into the lungs. A well balanced diet with plenty of fiber and roughage will help to bind with the fur and carry it out of the body. A teaspoon of olive oil added to food can be helpful also. |
