GERMICIDE: Take rue, sage, mint, rosemary, and lavender, fresh gathered, of each a handful, cut them small, and put them into a stone jar, pour upon the herbs a pint of the best white wine vinegar; cover the jar close, and let it stand 8 days in the sun, or near a fire; then strain it off, and dissolve in it an ounce of camphor. This liquid, sprinkled about the sick chamber, or fumigated, will much revive the patient, and prevent the attendants from receiving infection.
