Elderberry Tea

The fresh blossoms can be used in teas in the early summer, or more often the sweet, dark purple berries are dried and used for winter cold and flu teas. It does not have to be cold outside to enjoy the flavor of Elderberry tea, this tasty antioxidant berry can be enjoyed in the warm summer months as well.

Ingredients:
Elder *
Additions: Honey, Lemon, Mint
Variations:Blends well with spices like cinnamon and ginger
Recipe Instructions: Decoction :For fresh tea use a handful of freshly picked blossoms (1 tablespoon dried) for each cup of hot water. Chop or cut leaves and infused in hot water until cool enough to drink. For dried berries use 1 teaspoon to each cup of water. Bring to a slow boil and simmer covered for 10 minutes.
